The short-list announced for Over The Edge 'New Writer of the Year' this year includes three Galway Writers.
Megan Buckley, Galway City, Kevin Lavelle, Galway County and Alan McMonagle, Galway City have been included in the short list of eight people in the inaugural Over The Edge New Writer of The Year Competition. The winner will be announced at the first Over The Edge: Open Reading after the summer break in Galway City Library on Thursday, 30 August at 6.30pm. The competition judge is Alan Jude Moore, who will be a Featured Reader at the reading on Thursday 30 August. His reading is sponsored by Poetry Ireland. The other featured readers will be Margaret Faherty and Tom Lavelle. There will as usual be an open-mike when the featured readers have finished. All are welcome to attend.
