A launch party for an online gallery will take place in the city in May. MART, (MEDIA ART), which was set up by Matthew Nevin, Ciara Scanlan and Chloe Freaks in Galway in 2007, is a non-profit organisation that aims to create a platform for video art, new media, installation and performance artists to showcase their work online. It has created an online gallery space for video artists in Ireland – www.mart.ie. MART's launching event, 'THE MART', shall both promote and launch their website and exhibit a taster of work from a selection of their artists. It will take place in Silks, Sea Road on Friday 9 May.
