Faoi Bhl?th', a new photographic exhibition from Jane Talbot, will be open in the Galway City Museum this Friday, 28 September, at 6pm.

This exhibition follows the hugely successful 'The Flower Show', which was held in the Town Hall Theatre during Project '06. 'Faoi Bhláth' takes a closer look at the many plants and flowers that surround us in the West of Ireland.

Breandán Ó hEaghra of the Galway City Museum believes that this exhibition presents schools throughout the city and county with an ideal opportunity to bring children to the museum to learn about the natural environment that surrounds them.

"Jane's exhibition takes a microscopic look at flowers and plants and almost relates the personality of the plant life around us,' says Ó hEaghra.  "All of the flowers are named, mostly as Gaeilge, and we believe that this exhibition can be a great way of giving children an appreciation of nature, in the setting of our new museum."

From the buttercup to the bog cotton, 'Faoi Bhláth' is an in-depth celebration of our surrounding nature.  The exhibition will be held in the top floor gallery of the museum, overlooking the ancient Spanish Arch. All images will be on sale.
