The American/Irish folk quintet, Sawyer Hollow will play Áras na nGael, on Saturday 25 August at 9pm. The band, which formed in Virginia in 2006, merges musical talents and cultural influences from either side of the Atlantic. Galway based Noriana Kennedy and James Ryan joined in 2006 while visiting America. They add a traditional flavour to an American bluegrass mix.

Both play with Galway group Nábac, who entertained and ignited the audience when they last played in Áras na nGael. The remaining members of Nábac and other well known traditional artists are set to join Sawyer Hollow on stage for a tune or two.

Andy Thacker, Cleek Schrey and Ryan McGiver bring the mandolin, fiddle and guitar from Virginia and New York to create a unique and energetic sound.

Tickets, €5, are available from Arus na nGael on Domnick Street. Doors open at 9pm.
