Galway audiences will be one of the deciding factors in choosing the top films at this year’s Manhattan Short Film Festival. The 12 selected films are set to be judged by theatre-going audiences across three continents. Galway audiences are set to judge on Sunday 30 September at 3pm in The Town Hall Theatre.
“This year’s films are without doubt the most evenly graded bunch of films we have had in the Manhattan Short’s ten-year history,” says Nicholas Mason, Manhattan Short founder and director. “I simply don’t know which will win it this year, it’s a tough call.” While one goal of the Manhattan Short Film Festival is to unearth future film talent, the festival’s ultimate aim is to unite audiences around the world. “We expect 50,000 people to come together this year to view and vote on these films,” says Mason. “And all twelve finalists should be applauded for being a part of that.”
