There is a plethora of interesting and entertaining Irish and international shorts and documentaries showing at this year's Galway Film Fleadh. ![]() Sanctuary will be shown at 10am on Thursday 9 July in the Town Hall Theatre. The Boys of St Columb's, narrated by Stephen Rea and directed by 'Kings' director Tom Collins, is based in and around one of the most influential Catholic schools in Ireland, St Columb's in County Derry where some of the most important figures in Irish culture, such as Seamus Heaney, John Hume, Phil Coulter, Paul Brady, Bishop Edward Daly, James Sharkey and Brian Friel were educated. The documentary will be premiering on Friday 10 July at 2.30pm in the Town Hall and Paul Brady, John Hume and former Ambassador James Sharkey are expected to attend the screening. Another documentary worth checking out is The Red Tail, which shows the human cost of the current economic troubles. Telling the story of Roy Koch, an airline employee who is laid off by Northwest Airlines, The Red Tail follows Roy - accompanied by his daughter Melissa - as he travels to China to find out to whom his job has been outsourced.
