Denis Mockler plays in the Amnesty International Freedom Café tomorrow, Thursday 13 December, at 6pm.

"I've been writing songs for ten years but it was only recently I learned to play the guitar. I've written a lot of new songs since July, which was my first gig ever. Some will be included on this night," said Denis.

Denis lived started writing when he lived in Derry, being inspired by the beautiful scenery and lifestyle. He has also lived in England and Spain, where he got further inspiration to create music. "When I write a song, I try to get in touch with my feelings at the moment and express it as honestly as I can," he says.

He describes his songs as country ballads and love songs influenced by the life and work of Johnny Cash.
