The countdown has begun for the second ever Galway Culture Night, which will take place on Friday 25 September in a number of wonderful locations all over the city, admission to which will be completely free of charge. Galway Culture Night aims to showcase Galway's rich cultural fabric along with cultural institutions throughout the city and ultimately make the arts accessible to absolutely everyone, enthusiasts and novices alike. Well known venues, such as, Artspace Studios, Lorg Printmakers, Town Hall Theatre, Charlie Byrne's Bookshop, Galway Arts Centre, Galway City Museum, Kenny Gallery, National University of Ireland, Galway, the Collegiate Church of St Nicholas, Nun's Island Studio, Galway City Library and the University College Hospital have already confirmed their involvement. These and other venues and institutions will extend their normal opening times until 8pm, 10pm, midnight or even later. Members of the public are invited to attend the various workshops, displays, performances, readings and recitals that will be taking place throughout the city by wonderful artists and performers, such as Contempo, Galway Chamber Choir, Michael O'Loughlin, Jim Kavanagh and Adrian Megahey. Bus Eireann has also generously agreed to offer a complimentary bus service on the night, running from Ballybane to Salthill, in order to encourage people to come into the heart of the city!
