The next Green Spheres is scheduled for Tuesday 30 September at Cuba* with Canadian electro-clash outfit Crystal Castles. ![]() The sound is an Atari inspired eight-bit fusion of Galaxian style sound effects and shouty nu-rave lyrics. Their live shows amassed a cult following through their uncompromising and intense delivery. Touring extensively around the world for the past year, they have joined up with artists such as The Klaxons, The Presets and Metric. Their self-titled album was described as being 'absolutely overloaded with spine-tingling, pulse-quickening electro noises' which have you 'left somewhere between intrigued and awestruck.' Since forming in late 2003, the Canadian duo of Ethan Kath and Alice Glass have enjoyed a meteoric rise through fairly serendipitous circumstances. The first song they posted on Myspace was accidentally recorded when the microphone was left open in the studio, while Glass was listening to some of Kath's instrumentals. Like that the record companies came a knocking and their story began. Now, their 7"s sell out almost instantly. Their style pulled in a number of high profile bands like a tractor beam for remixes, including The Klaxons, Bloc Party and Uffie. You need to register to be in with a chance to win tickets to Heineken Green Spheres at www.heinekengreenspheres.ie. |
