Five-piece West of Ireland band, The Rye will play Aras na nGael on Sunday 3 August.

A gig with The Rye is high-spirited, full-blown entertainment. They present one of the freshest and most exciting approaches to Irish Music heard in recent times. Imagine The Pogues meeting Tom Waits in 2008.

They are made up of Donegal native Kevin Melly on vocals and acoustic guitar, Anna 'Clare' Falkenau on fiddle and vocals, Alan 'the Lege' Walsh on banjo, electric guitar and vocals and Barry Wallace on bass, banjo and bouzouki. All originally from very different musical backgrounds, together they present one of the freshest and most exciting approaches to Irish music heard in recent times.

Doors are open at 8.30pm.
