There will be a poetry slam on Tuesday 27 February in the Ruby Room in the King’s Head on High Street. The slam begins at 7pm.

For those who like poetry with attitude, the Galway Arts Centre presents the penultimate Poetry Slam before the big showdown in the Cúirt International Festival of Literature Grand Slam in April.

Guest performers at the slam include Anthony Daly, Miceál Kearney, and Dave Rock who will warm up the crowd for the eight participants who will be battling to secure a place in the festival Grand Slam.
Resident MC Pete Mullineaux will keep order and audience judges will pick the winner.
