The Black Box will be bouncing to the funky electro and progressive house sounds of Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso over Paddy’s weekend. The world famous DJ tag team are due to make their Galway debut on Sunday 16 March. Angello and partner-in-crime Ingrosso are actually best friends as well as members of the infamous Swedish House Mafia (a five strong troupe of the cream of current Swedish house DJs/producers including Eric Prydz and Axwell) and have had big hits worldwide under different monikers over the last few years with tracks such as ‘Umbrella’, ‘Teasing Mr Charlie’ and ‘Tell me Why’. Angello’s record label Size Records has been at the forefront of the progressive house scene since it was established in 2002; Size have just celebrated their second birthday of its residency at Ministry in London and Size have also held down residencies in conjunction with Eric Morillo’s Subliminal records at Pacha in Ibiza over the last two summers. Angello and Ingrosso’s tracks have been top of DJs’ playlists worldwide, appearing on many top compilations as well as the duo themselves recording mix CDs for Mixmag, Subliminal and Ministry Sessions. Fresh from DJing tours of Brazil, the UK and the US, the duo stop off in the Black Box before packing up for the Winter Music Conference in Miami at the end of March. Tickets for Steve Angello and Sebasian Ingrosso go on sale this Friday, 23 February at the Town Hall theatre. |
