![]() Saw Docs manager Ollie Jennings is to launch a unique autobiography in Galway later this month. Johnny Duhan's life is laid bare in his new book 'To The Light', the only full-scale autobiography that has been written entirely in song. The stories, prose-poems and song journal extracts that inspired Duhan's lyrics add cohesion to the work and make it a colourful and entertaining read. Duhan's songs like 'The Voyage' and 'Don't Give Up Till It's Over' are sung all over the world in a variety of languages, thanks to the focus put on them by Christy Moore, The Dubliners, The Irish Tenors, Tommy Fleming and hosts of other Irish and international singers. 'To The Light', is set in the form of four separate stage performances, mainly because the stories that bind the book together came to Johnny on stage and seemed the most natural way of introducing a reading audience to his work, but also to display his entire life's output in song in the prism of just four sequential chapters. Ollie Jennings will launch 'To The Light' on Thursday 16 October at 7pm in the Warwick Hotel. |
