ALâ Community Theatre and Education Project is accepting new students for its Theatre Skills Workshop.
The Theatre Skills Workshop, taught by theatre artist Kate Scuffle, is offered every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 10pm at the Ballybane Community Resource Centre. It offers basic theatre and acting skills, theatre games and improvisations.
Designed to be accessible, educational and enjoyable, the workshops offer participants a unique opportunity to develop social and communication skills, build confidence, express themselves creatively, and to work and play together as a team.
The ALâ Workshop members will also have the opportunity to be part of the ALâ Advanced Workshop's production of 'The Alice Project' (based on Alice In Wonderland) at the Town Hall Studio in November.
ALâ is a not-for-profit, personal development organisation using drama and the arts as developmental tools. Established in 2004, it gives everyone the opportunity to be involved, regardless of experience, nationality, religion, or mental and physical ability. ALâ is funded by the City of Galway VEC, Galway City Partnership, An Pobal, and Galway City Arts Department.
There is a per-class donation for the Theatre Skills Workshop of €7 waged and €7 unwaged. The workshop runs every Wednesday evening, starting in September, until mid-December.
For more information on the workshop, contact Jim at ALâ at 086-8461270.
