Galway audience can look forward to a 'slice' of visual art next month. TRIPOD III is showcasing 20 plus contemporary Irish artists in Galway, many of whom are delighted to show in the West of Ireland for the first time. 'SLICE' the exhibition, enables a dynamic cut of both established and emerging artists, across the media of oils, photography and sculpture. Artists taking part include Simon McWilliams RUA, Keith Wilson, Sheenagh Geoghegan, Neil Shawcross RUA RHA, Jean Purtill, Patrick Redmond, Gary Coyle ARHA, Sinead Ni Mhaonaigh, Colin Davidson RUA, Anya Waterworth, Paddy McCann, Elisabeth O'Brien, Cormac O'Leary, John Shinnors, Eileen E Lee, Diana Copperwhite, Blaise Smith, Guggi, Mary Kelly and Tadhg McSweeney - while there will be sculptures by Peter Killeen, Emer Byrne, Bob Quinn, Cliodhna Cussen, Anthony Scott, Philip Cullen and Anna Linnane. This innovative event will be held in a high profile city centrespace, the Fairgreen Building, which provides an ideal industrial backdrop for these pieces. The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday 6 to Thursday 12 June from 10am to 6pm daily. TRIPOD III aims is to share its passion for and expertise in contemporary Irish art with enthusiasts (and emerging enthusiasts!). |
