'A Great Little Woman' by Michael (Mick) Foley returns to the Town Hall Theatre next month before heading to New York for the first ever New York Irish Theatre Festival. The play, a fast moving story line that covers one whole day in the life of James Carrol, moves rapidly from danger to comfort, from peace to unbearable excitement, all the while teetering on the edge of chaos. It is being staged by Yelof Productions, which was formed in 1999 by Foley. 'A Great Little Woman' was last staged in the Town Hall Theatre in November 2007. Unfortunately Michael was not well enough to see the packed house each night but the reports of the play's success lifted his spirit. Sadly after a courageous battle Michael passed away on 25 April this year. His love of drama and the theatre has been an inspiration to all in Yelof. Prior to his death Mick had planned to bring 'A Great Little Woman' to New York. It will run in the Town Hall Studio on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 September at 8pm. Tickets, €13/€10, are available from 091-569777. |
