Willow Tree is the first recorded album by emerging contemporary singer songwriter úna Mac Lochlainn. A unique album of original songs, music and arrangements, it marks the beginning of a highly promising singing/songwriting career for úna. 'Willow Tree' from which the album gets its name plumbs a raw emotional depth yet reflects a lyrical and musical maturity and confidence.

Love, loss and parting permeate the eight-track album, often hauntingly intertwined with original melodies and self accompaniment (guitar, violin and piano).

'Willow Tree' is very much a musical album. With hints of blues and jazz and folk/traditional overtones, Una's voice is true and soulful and makes you stop and listen. Nothing you hear is familiar yet the complete sound is compelling taking you on an inner journey, sometimes gentle, sometimes harsh and often moody.

úna is no stranger to music. She grew up surrounded by music and singing from a very early age. Her mother is west Cork native, Máire Ní Dhuibhir, a highly acclaimed church music composer and choral director who runs a well-known music school in New Inn outside Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Like her mother, úna graduated with a degree in music from University College Cork and is currently taking a year out to explore the development of a singing/song writing career.
