The Galway County and City Enterprise Board is the first point of contact for all start-ups. Whilst the current structure of Enterprise Boards across the country is to change, budgets and supports are confirmed and still being delivered in 2013. We will continue to support and nurture new and existing business in the area. We do this by:
Increasing the ability of promoters to start up, or existing businesses to grow their business with financial support for new equipment, hiring new employees or developing a marketing campaign to attract and connect with customers.
Increasing skills by providing practical management development training, or providing mentoring services to help develop their business.
Stimulating and encouraging the creation of economically sustainable employment opportunities through promotion of self-employment as a viable career choice.
Providing practical support to all clients. Examples include workshops to help promoters prepare to meet buyers, to prepare for trade shows, to display their produce and/or photograph their produce to a very high standard, to develop effective on line communications.
Providing practical support to all clients in the form of focused networking events to allow clients meet informally to discuss issues and share their experiences in a safe environment.
Providing financial support to attend trade shows, export development supports or web site development grant aid where the business is of sufficient size to merit this.
Actively promoting the involvement of women to develop their own business by co-hosting events with relevant networks and agencies.
To access any of our supports, the first step is to call and meet face to face to identify the best way we can support you. These sessions are free and you can attend as often as you need to whilst you are working through the initial phases of organising your own business start-up.
Certain sectors cannot be supported by the board financially, but you will receive advice and guidance on a range of supports that will be available to you.
Most of our training, mentoring and advisory supports are available to all. Trade show and website development supports are available to all businesses that can show they have a developed viable business proposal. In the event that you require assistance with developing a business plan, our business management programme, which runs every six weeks, will help you work through all the detail.
