Galway Career Clinic has announced a weekend workshop dedicated exclusively to Leaving Cert students at The Harbour Hotel, Dock Street, Galway on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October. The weekend workshop is broken into two different categories. Day One is exclusively dedicated to aptitude and ability testing and career exploration. The importance of aptitude and ability testing is significant as it will help students identify those areas in which they have strong natural ability or talent, therefore accurately predicting your potential for succeeding in different types of college courses or work. In particular, this is very advantageous to Leaving Certificate students who may be unsure where their talents lie, which is imperative to identify prior to the completion of the CAO forms. Day Two is dedicated exclusively to study skills. Topics covered on the day include goal setting, effective revision skills, taking and making notes, revision techniques, memory techniques, exam techniques, breakdown of a number of Leaving Certificate subjects and health and study. Career guidance is offered in a follow-up appointment at Galway Careers Clinic, 5 Devon Place, The Crescent, and Galway, whereby students and parents are invited for an hour-long appointment to discuss the results of the foregoing tests. To book a place, contact Galway Careers Clinic on 091-581234 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for a booking form. Places are strictly limited to ensure personal attention is given to each student. |
