Global software company Cisco announced on Monday that it will continue to expand its 115 person team based at its new Innovation Centre in Galway. Since opening in 2007, the team has grown rapidly and recently relocated to a new landmark 50,000 square foot facility which includes research and development labs along with a European Customer Interaction Centre. "The increased facility and lab capacity of our new building gives us the opportunity to expand our team and recruitment will continue a pace through the summer for technical staff at all levels, "said Mike Conroy, general manager and a senior director of research and development at Cisco, Galway. "Our building has been custom designed at many levels to foster collaboration and innovation both within the team and, with Cisco employees and customers around the globe, through the use of Cisco's TelePresence technology and Unified Communications and Collaboration tools. The team has had a tremendous first year and is at the heart of our global Unified Communications design efforts," continued Conroy. David Buckley, human resources manager Ireland, Cisco Systems added, "The continued availability of extremely talented individuals means we are increasingly confident of our ability to deliver quality jobs to the Galway area. The calibre of the employees we have attracted to date has been excellent." "With the Irish education system driving the development of a highly skilled workforce we have recently completed a graduate hiring cycle. This involved meeting with students from Irish and international universities and we have many graduates already joining us over the coming months," commented Buckley. The company is currently recruiting for Software Design and Test Engineers, Engineering Managers, Mobility Applications engineers and Business product and program managers. Cisco currently employs 115 at its Unified Communications R&D Centre and approximately 70 people in its Dublin-based sales, marketing, finance and technical engineering. |
