Galway Chamber is inviting members to attend a facilitated workshop with Forfás to give their views on training needs and demands in the area of management development. Forfás is seeking to undertake an in-depth and extensive investigation of the management development demands and needs of SMEs. Specifically, they are seeking to understand: Whether the current supply of management development programs are adequate to meet the needs of SME managers; The key factors inhibiting or dis-incentivising SMEs from investing in management development; The means by which enterprises identify their own management training and development needs; The characteristics of courses/supports/instruments most sought by SMEs when deciding to invest in management development; The level of 'in-company' management development taking place within SMEs. The chamber hopes to have ten SME manager participants in the workshop. The workshop will be two hours long, followed by lunch. The workshop will be facilitated by a professional facilitator and will take place on Wednesday, 20 February 2007 from 11am - 1pm followed by Lunch in the Radisson SAS Hotel, Galway.
