The company received the accreditation following an audit of its lifelong learning practices for engineering professionals and was presented with the award by Ms Mary Coughlan TD, Tánaiste, and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment. Presenting the award, An Tánaiste said, "Engineering is a fundamental part of sustaining Ireland's economic success and this is underpinned by a skilled and proficient supply of engineers. "The CPD process facilitates this by encouraging engineering firms to develop their staff for mutual benefit, so I am delighted to present the award to the 100th company on behalf of Engineers Ireland. SISK is clearly fully committed to the progression of its staff and is a deserving recipient of this award." Commenting on John SISK & Son Ltd's achievement and the 100th CPD award, Engineers Ireland Director General and Chartered Engineer, John Power said CPD Accreditation was a strategy for success in organisations. "It indicates that engineering professionals in a company are constantly re-skilling themselves. This ensures the public can be certain that Ireland's engineers are implementing modern safe techniques and have the expertise to safeguard public interest. Specifically, the mentoring programme and 'Lessons Learned' seminars at SISK illustrate the company's total commitment to CPD. SISK is a very worthy recipient of this landmark 100th award." John SISK & Son Ltd is the largest general contracting company in Ireland. With offices in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Dundalk, Galway, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford, the company has completed major projects in every corner of Ireland. Currently, John Sisk and Son Ltd is the lead contractor on the high profile New Stadium at Lansdowne Road, having previously acted in the same role for the Croke Park stadium.
