It's no secret that companies across all industries in Ireland are operating in an extremely different environment and face numerous challenges and barriers to growth. That said, at Deloitte, we are confident that this year's Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking will continue to showcase the talent and resilience of the indigenous Irish technology industry.

With just two weeks left to apply for the awards, Deloitte is calling all indigenous technology companies to apply for the awards to ensure they are in with a chance of achieving a place on the industry recognised ranking.

The Fast 50 awards are an opportunity for technology businesses to gain recognition for their successes and achievements. In what has been a turbulent business environment, there has never been a more important time for businesses to highlight their achievements. Our aim is to really showcase how the technology industry in Ireland is coping and successfully overcoming the challenges that exist.

Previous winning companies include Data Electronics, PulseLearning and 2008's winning entry, Lincor Solutions Ltd, a provider of next generation interactive digital media solutions for the delivery of content and communication services to the healthcare sector.

The ranking will feature both private and public listed technology companies that have demonstrated innovative strategies, sound management practices and marketplace vision driving them to achieve the status of high-growth leaders. In addition to the Fast 50 ranking, the Rising Star category will honour two up-and-coming companies who are in business less than five years. The winners will be announced in October 2009.

Ireland's Fast 50 companies will also be entered into Deloitte's EMEA Fast 500 award programme, which recognises Europe's fastest growing technology companies.

The closing date for entries is Monday 7 September. Details of how to enter the awards can be found at www.fast50.ie.
