The Western River Basin District will be embarking on a series of Public Information meetings with a view to highlighting the issues raised in the 'Water Matters' booklet.

This booklet, published as part of the Water Framework Directive, highlights national and local issues affecting water quality in the local rivers, lakes, estuaries, coastal waters and groundwater in the Western River Basin District, an area which covers Sligo, Mayo, Galway City and County and parts of Roscommon, Leitrim and Clare. There will be a public meeting on Tuesday,13 November in the Radisson SAS Hotel Galway at 7pm.

This meeting will afford an opportunity to comment on these issues and to advise as to other water issues that should be factored into our future River Basin Management plans. Members of Galway Chamber are cordially invited to attend. For a copy of the Water Matters booklet visit www.westernrbd.ie.
