Fourteen Nortel employees have been presented with Certificates of Appreciation to recognise their efforts during the past school year. The staff volunteered to deliver a wide range or programmes to both primary and second level schools in the Galway region.
Junior Achievement is part of a worldwide organisation reaching out to seven million young people each year. All Junior Achievement programmes are taught by business volunteers recruited from supporting organisations and fully trained before they commence their programme.
For the past six years Nortel has been involved with Junior Achievement. The following Nortel employees took part at the following schools: Eoin Mooney, Pat Boyle, Eugene Black, Paul Tucker, Michelle Kelleher, Caroline McLoughlin, Audrey Hayden, Joe Smyth, Tony Nally, Padraic Fahey, Paula O'Connor, Elaine White, Michael Hartmann, Elaine White, Fionnuala Glynn, Audrey Hayden and Eugene Black. The Galway schools that took part were Barna NS, Calasanctius, Oranmore, Killeeneen NS, Scoil Caitriona Senior, Scoil Chroi Iosa, Scoil Mhuire, Briarhill, Scoil Rois Primary School and St Joseph's College.
