Galway's Westwood Hotel has just undergone an extensive refurbishment
and is now right "at the fore of the four star market in Galway City
and the West of Ireland," according to General Manager David Kelly. Fully restyled as a modern day country house with rich fabrics and opulent wallpapers, the warmth and luxury of the new-look Westwood is unrivalled. All fifty-eight bedrooms have been completely redecorated, with crisp white linen and cosy duvets lending a feeling of old world luxury. However, any antiquity ends there, as all rooms are also kitted out with extensive entertainment systems comprising 26" LCD flat-screen digital TVs, music and movies on demand, and complimentary broadband via TV. All bedrooms have the added bonus of locally handcrafted furniture, in-room air conditioning, iron and trouser press, as well as facilities for tea and coffee. Complimentary wireless broadband is now available in all of the hotel's redesigned public areas, including the award-winning Meridian Restaurant, Richard Martin Conference and Banqueting Suite and the hotel foyer. The Westwood is owned by Galway hotelier Terry Sweeney, and is a sister hotel to the four star Schoolhouse Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin, and the Holiday Inn Hotel in Killarney. |
