Deirdre O' Shaughnessy joins the Galway Independent from editing An Focal, the University of Limerick student newspaper, and its magazine supplement, Review. She has also worked as a freelance news and political reporter for the Limerick Independent.

Originally from Co. Limerick, Deirdre achieved a first class honours degree in Law and European Studies at the University of Limerick.
