New Galway/ Dublin train times

The new Galway/Dublin Iarnrod Éireann timetable comes into effect on Sunday 14 January.

A number of significant time changes are included in the timetable and passengers have been advised to check their times in advance, as there are a number of earlier departures.

In response to the findings of customer research indicating a desire to arrive in Heuston prior to 10am, a new 7.15am departure will replace the existing 7.45am. This will give an earlier arrival at Heuston of 9.43am.

The evening train from Galway has also been advanced to 6.05pm, in response to the increasing number of Co. Galway commuters who are availing of the early morning service from Athlone, Ballinasloe, Woodlawn, Attymon and Athenry.

No customer service WHAT SO EVER from irish rail

I just spent the last 2 hours trying to log into the irish rail website to get a time table. Not only does that not work but when I try to call the locall number and ask to be put through to a PERSON instead of the automated machine .... it cant even managed to do that. Seriously how is irish rail ment to make any money when their customers cant reach them.

They don't have to worry about making money -no matter how inefficient they are. Any shortfall and the taxpayer makes up the difference. Dastardly clever when you think about it: You, the customer, pays well-over the odds for a shoddyy, inefficient and incomplete service; and then you, the taxpayer, pays for it all again when they cant make ends meet. Brilliant.
Unfortunately its not great for the customer Or the taxpayer -and come to think of it -thats pretty much everyone. But it sure works well for all the trade unionists and public servants in Iarnrod Eireann -I mean who did you think it was all for?
