A new daily Galway to Athenry bus route has been launched to serve the growing needs of commuters in Galway. ![]() Rugby player Andrew Farley and Mayor Tom Costello prepare to board tha coach to Athenry on Monday afternoon as part of the official launch of Farrell Travel's new regular route from Galway to Athenry. Farrell Travel, the route's operator, provides transport to schools, societies, sporting clubs, tour operators, private hire and a chauffeur service to the city mayoral office. The company currently carries out work for several large tour companies including Irish Coaches and JJ Kavanagh and Sons. According to owner Fergus Farrell, the new service: "aims to cut commuting time and provide a link between the heritage town of Athenry and the bustling city of Galway. Our logo is 'Quality in Motion' as all our vehicles have been upgraded and we pride ourselves in our professionalism." The three stops in Athenry are central to the majority of housing estates and town amenities. Within Galway the stops cater for students, office employees, hospital staff and visitors along with retail shoppers. As the service operates on a frequent timetable, customers have a variety of times from which to choose. "Farrell Travel has always valued our customers' loyalty and with this service we aim to give something back. As a reward we present the opportunity every week for one lucky passenger to win a free weekly pass to use as they wish. Looking forward to your support and custom in the future from Fergus Farrell and all at Farrell Travel," concluded Mr Farrell. A 7am bus service will be launched later this year to serve factory and other industrial workers. |
