Network Galway shortlists Women of the Year E-mail

From over 60 nominees, three candidates have been chosen in each category. In the Professional Services category, sponsored by O & B Recruitment Ltd, the candidates are Lorna McDowell of Xenergie, Lorna McGuire of All 3D Designs, and Sinead O'Connell of Computer Troubleshooters.

For Financial Services, sponsored by Davy Stockbrokers, the candidates are Orla Murray of Orla Murray Financial Services, Mary Mannion of Mary Mannion & Co, and Elizabeth Anne Lillis of Mill Financial.

Finalists in the Tourism and Retail category, sponsored by the Carlton Shearwater Plaza in Ballinasloe, are Sorcha Murray of The Twelve, Nora Gill of the Claregalway Hotel and Karen Smyth from Aran Direct.

The Communications and Arts category, sponsored by Galway Now, features Denise Hogan from DHD Designs, Michelle Coyne and Olivia Collins of Those Two Girls PR.

The winners in each category, along with the Outstanding Business Women of the Year, will be announced at the annual black tie ceremony on October 19 in the Westwood House Hotel.

The evening promises to be a 'glitz and glam' event with the evening kicking off with a Jolie Reception. On hand to present the awards is actress and author Claudia Carroll. Tickets are available on line at www.networkgalway.com or contact Nuala Wakefield on 087-2482477 for more information.

Meanwhile, On Friday, 5 October, The Network National Conference and Network National Women in Business Awards took place in The Castletroy Park Hotel Limerick.

Over 250 delegates attended the awards from all branches of Network nationwide. Patricia McCrossan, of 'Galway Now' was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award - one of the organisation's highest accolades.

Eileen Sweeney, 'Dine To Meet' was awarded a special Highly Commended Award for Start up Business.

According to Network Galway President Nuala Wakefield, "this is proof of the high calibre of membership that we have in Galway".
