The CIPD annual conference, to be held on Friday 10 October, will hear from economist and author David McWilliams and entrepreneur Brody Sweeney on how the country should be run. The conference, which will take place at GMIT, will centre on 'Leadership - Strategy to Execution'. David McWilliams will address the Government directly by demonstrating his strategy in the very topical 'How to run your country' and how his plan should be executed. Also addressing the conference will be founder and Chairman of O'Brien's Irish Sandwich Bars, Brody Sweeney. Since opening their first store in 1988, Brody and his management team have successfully opened over 300 outlets worldwide, with over 110 outlets in Ireland, making his company one of Ireland's successful export brands. Brody is one of Ireland's best-known entrepreneurs and a much sought-after speaker on entrepreneurship, leadership, CSR, and motivation at events in Ireland and the UK. The event will run from 9am to 3pm at GMIT and will also feature three local speakers, Deirdre McHugh, Law Lecturer, GMIT, Joe Howley Assistant Secretary, Head of Revenue's Border Midlands West Region, and Evelyn O'Toole, Managing Director of Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS). Tickets for the conference are €125 and bookings before Friday 3 October will receive a ticket to the CIPD Gala Dinner Dance sponsored by CCP Recruitment, which is being held later that night in the Clayton Hotel.
