The Collins McNicholas Recruitment and HR Services Group recently joined forces with Purdy Legal Solicitors to deliver an Employment Law Seminar for their clients based in the Western Region.

The morning seminar, held in the Clayton Hotel, was presented by Alastair Purdy of Purdy Legal Solicitors and guest speaker Deirdre McHugh (353 Management and Legal Training Services). Purdy Legal Solicitors advises a large number of blue chip indigenous and multinational companies on various aspects of employment law. The firm is headed by Alastair Purdy who has significant HR and Employment Law experience, having worked as a HR Director in the private sector prior to setting up his own solicitor's practice.

The conference, which was organised by Collins McNicholas, was very well attended by both HR professionals and business owners from the West and Mid-West regions. The employers were informed of recent developments in employment law as well as garnering a more general understanding of employment law issues. Topics covered included equality in the workplace, bullying and harassment, redundancy legislation, industrial relations and an update on recent case law.
