Claregalway gourmets are in for a treat with the arrival of the village's most exciting eatery, Khazana Indian Restaurant and Takeaway. ![]() Conveniently located beside the Central Tavern at Loughgeorge, Khazana caters for the growing population of well-travelled customers in the Claregalway area and beyond. With a mouth-watering menu made up of all your Indian favourites, plus a few new dishes for the more adventurous diner, Khazana has already earned a fantastic reputation in the area. The Indian fare available in Khazana stands head and shoulders over other takeaways for its quality ingredients, which are locally sourced where possible, with all meat and dairy products Feile Bia approved. Halal foods are also on offer. While Khazana has an extensive menu, customer service is a priority and manager Mohammad and his staff will do their best to cater for any dietary needs, or to cook up any dish not mentioned on the menu, where possible. An intimate setting with friendly, professional service means that dining out has never been so comfortable, while the restaurant's takeaway service means you can have all of the quality for a much lower price than other, similar outlets charge, with many dishes priced under €10. The restaurant, which opened in the first week of December, has already proved to be a hit with locals. A number of customers have already said it was “the best Indian they ever had” and one couple has returned three times. The takeaway is a godsend for anyone looking to save a few pennies during the recession, while continuing to indulge their love of a good meal. This is not your usual takeaway; the variety of Khazan’s food, at a much lower price than most restaurants, means your weekly meal out can now be replaced with a high quality, low cost, delicious Indian meal. The restaurant also operates a full delivery service seven days a week, which goes further afield than most – Khazan already has a number of regular delivery customers in Roscam. Led by the experienced local partnership of Darren Hollywood and Shane Hanly, well known for their revamp of the Central Tavern and Blake's Restaurant and Bar in Galway, along with a team of renowned Indian staff, Khazana has something new to offer Claregalway. Manager Mohammad Jasim Uddin and chefs Mohammad Shadat Hossein and Mukesh Roy are experienced in the Indian food world, with the manager joining Khazana from Tulsi Restaurant Ennis, where his professional and perfectionist reputation was well known. Both chefs have many years’ experience in Ireland as well as abroad. Opening hours: 5pm to 11pm.
