The Galway Bar Association held a continuing professional development seminar, free to its members, on Friday afternoon, 27 June at Galway Courthouse followed by a summer barbeque at O'Connell's Pub, Eyre Square.

The seminar covered three topics: Examinership, in a lecture given by Kevin McSharry of BDO Simpson Xavier; Planning Injunctions, given by Rebecca McCanna BL, and; Mediation and the Law presented by Michael O'Connor BL. A large number of members attended both the seminars and the barbeque.

At the seminar, the association which represents approximately 340 solicitors in Galway city and county, took the opportunity to unveil its new website which will allow it to advertise its events to members more effectively. The website www.gsba.ie was developed in conjunction with Rory O'Mara of Western Web Marketing.
