As part of its nationwide broadband rollout programme, eircom has broadband enabled the telephone exchange serving the residents of Aughrim and Roscam in County Galway.

Last week's announcement comes as part of eircom's public commitment to broadband enable over 400 exchanges across Ireland, including a further 27 exchanges in the Galway area and the company says it is determined to connect 96 per cent of the working telephone lines in Ireland to a broadband exchange within the next two years.

For sport-lovers, broadband customers can now watch exclusive live games and archived footage on Setanta Sports (GAA All-Ireland Championships, Formula 1, the PGA Tour) as well as access to a dedicated soccer portal with behind the scenes interviews and exclusives with the Irish soccer team Extras also include two months Norton Internet Security free and then €3.99 per month thereafter, one GB free online storage to store, share and access your digital photos, family videos and personal documents.

eircom broadband customers can also enjoy free access to more than 1,000 eircom hotspots nationwide including hotels, pubs, coffee shops, airports until 22 September.
