Following the serious fire at the Homevalue store at the Casla Industrial Estate in Connemara, proprietor and former Fianna Fáil Senator and Councillor, Nicholas Ó Conchubhair is holding a clearance sale from Friday 11 July. The fire broke out at the 30,000 square foot site in May and, although nobody was injured in the blaze, there was extensive damage to a lot of stock. Because of this, everything "from a needle to an anchor" will be on sale, according to Mr Ó Conchubhair. The Homevalue store provides everything for the house, from bedding and furniture, to kitchen and bathroom appliances. The sale will kick off at 8.30am on Friday 11 July, and could run for up to a couple of weeks. Mr Ó Conchubhair started his builders providers business in Litir MÓr in 1977 and, with the company expanding to the extent that it was unsafe to operate out of that location alone, he bought the site at the Údarás na Gaeltachta estate two years ago. Despite fears at the time of the incident, Mr Ó Conchubhair has managed to hold on to most of his staff and the team has been working hard to get the business back up and running, both for the upcoming sale, and the years ahead. Mr Ó Conchubhair said the construction of a new roof has recently been contracted to ACM, Carna, and that he was hopeful business could return to normal in December or January. For now though, he is inviting customers to attend the sale at his Homevalue store in Connemara, from Friday 11 July. |
