Citylink Ireland, one of Ireland's largest independent coach operators, has acquired successful Connemara-based company Michael Nee Coaches. The inter city carrier will be reviewing the service but says current timetables will not change in the foreseeable future as they are coordinated with the ferries between Cleggan and Inishbofin. Citylink Managing Director Cathy Cullen told the Galway Independent that: "Michael Nee Coaches had always linked in well with Citylink services so the move to integrate the two services made sense". Michael Nee Coaches began operations in 1995 servicing the Connemara area with daily coach services between Galway and Clifden. This acquisition is consistent with Citylink's growth strategy in Ireland. Citylink earlier this year introduced a new route to their operations between Galway, Limerick and Cork. This additional route between Galway City and Clifden will give accessibility to Connemara for existing customers. Citylink have regular services operating between Galway, Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Shannon Airport. |
