With the current economic climate placing extra pressures on businesses, gaining a competitive edge is all the more important. As part of Galway Chamber's continuing effort to make Galway the leading edge to do business, they have recently introduced an online documentation certification service making it easier and quicker for exporters to have their documents processed. The service, which enables exporters to apply online for the Certificates of Origin, will make it quicker, easier and more time efficient for exporters to get their deliveries out to customers, according to the Chamber. The online export documentation service is a collaboration between Galway Chamber and Galway based system designer, TradeCert.com and has been piloted in Galway by Thermo King International. Commenting on the new service, Carol Brady, Project Manager of Galway Chamber said, "Being at the leading edge of technology is important for Galway businesses and the online documentation service from Galway Chamber is the first of its kind in Ireland." "Nobody likes to waste time on unwieldy paperwork. This online service streamlines the entire application process saving companies time, effort and money," Carol Brady concluded. Commenting on the service, Maggie Akesson, Customer Service, Ingersoll Rand/ Thermo King said "One of Ingersoll Rand/Thermo King's main focus areas is business process excellence; therefore we embraced the opportunity to turn this highly administrative task into an efficient electronic online process. We find a combination of benefits by using the electronic service for instance, quicker turnaround time on certificate approval and reduced costs by eliminating errors, administrative time and courier charges. From Galway, we provide Order Management Services for Thermo King businesses in Barcelona/Spain, Suzhou/China, Laneskov/Denmark, and Hastings/USA. Our business and our global customers are benefiting from this initiative from the Galway Chamber of Commerce and we are looking forward to future innovative opportunities." Aidan Connaughton Sales Manager of TradeCert.com said, "We are delighted to be working with Galway Chamber of Commerce in rolling out this on line document certification system. Galway Exporters now get certified documents in minutes rather than days. The system is fast, flexible and easy to use, saving significant time and money for exporters." The TradeCert.com system is licensed by Chambers Ireland and sponsored by Bank of Ireland Global Markets. |
