Galway-based print company Castle Print has been nominated for an award as part of the James McNaughton Review 2007 – the revered international acknowledgment of excellence within the print industry. The winning company will be announced in late March 2008 during a luxury weekend of activities for all nominees, at the world-renowned and luxurious five star Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland. Castle Print has been nominated for printing work on Galway-based magazine Upstairs Downstairs - a chic and informative home interiors magazine which is available nationwide, and which has a page content of 96 attractive full-colour pages in the years it has been produced by Castle Print. Editor of Upstairs Downstairs, Ann Leyden considers the quality of the print delivered by Castle Print to be an integral part of the process which has allowed for the growth of the magazine both in physical terms, and to a national level of distribution. Castle Print is the only Irish printing company to be nominated for this award. For the past 20 years, the McNaughton Review has encouraged designers and printers from all over the UK and Ireland to produce great work, rewarding the very best in an awards ceremony which has become as prestigious as the award itself – taking place in luxurious locations across the globe, including Monte Carlo, London, Marbella and Venice in recent years. The Review was founded to "encourage creativity and enterprise, promote innovation and freshness recognise originality and quality, and to reward all of the above". "The past eighteen months have been an incredible and exciting time for us" says Darach O'Flaherty of Castle Print. "Winning the Galway Chamber Business Award in July 2007, a nomination for a national Irish Print Award the following October, and of course retaining the Q Mark. Last year saw considerable further development in all of our print services with further investment new state-of-the-art machinery to enhance the quality of our colour work and increase capacity. Of the company's latest accolade, Mr O'Flaherty says, "the list of nominees for the McNaughton Review reflects the calibre of the work the accolade goes to, and we are extremely proud to be the only printing company in both the Republic and the North of Ireland to be amongst them." |
