Imagine a place that could give you a piece of heaven, what would it be? Galway has now finally got that piece of heaven. Located on Augustine Street Heaven Scent spa is a rare treat to behold in the city centre.

Heaven Scent Beauty Spa opened its doors four months ago with owners Ruth Kemple and Fiona Coyne at the helm. " We trained together and stayed good friends; the timing was right to open our own business with our own vision," said Ruth. Having worked and managed busy salons before, there was a niche in the market to open a beauty spa in the city centre Fiona added. Both smiled saying they have 'come a long way' and are delighted with the outcome of their new venture.

And so they should be. As soon as you enter Heaven Scent you are greeted with an ambience of relaxation that helps you forget you are in the centre of Galway. Floral scents and soft neutral colours help create this sanctuary. There are four main treatment rooms and a beauty area for waxing, nails and spray tanning. The two areas that Fiona and Ruth are most pleased with and make Heaven Scent stand out from the crowd are the relaxation area off the reception with its cane woven loungers that look out onto a private balcony for all clients to enjoy before and after their treatments.

Also located at the back of the spa is the space everyone would want in their own home, a seaweed treatment bath. The vibe in this room is that of calm and serenity, with a feature back wall painted in deep blues and purples depicting a Hawaiian sunset in this busy city.

"The bath is very popular as it eases stress, is great for aching bones and gives you an energy boost," said Ruth. The spa also offers a deep tissue massage that allows the muscles to relax and de stress, which is so important now in peoples busy lives.

The beauty spa uses two very exclusive product ranges to Ireland let alone Galway. The main product line is Comfort Zone, winner of the 2006 best spa cosmetics range, which suits the spa down to the ground as the products are based around the senses and are inspired by different parts of the world. The products are working well and clients are extremely impressed with the results of their facials.

"We spent along time looking for the right product line but as soon as we found the products, we knew it was going to be the new big thing," said Ruth. "The Ishi line is the indulgent treatment that every women must try. Being the first in the West to introduce this line was very exciting. The products are 90 per cent organic so you can feel the natural ingredients like coco, vanilla, honey and raspberry bringing your skin to life.
