'The Future of Business Network Technology for Galway' is the subject under discussion at a seminar hosted by Smart Telecom at the Marriott Hotel, Galway today, Wednesday 7 November, at 8am. The Smart Telecom speakers will be Ray O'Brien, Head of Sales and Marketing and Ronan Kelly, Technical Operations Director. They will discuss Smart Telecom's Next Generation Network (NGN) and will outline how the NGN can deliver greater flexibility, responsiveness, reliability and value to customers in a cost-effective manner. Smart Telecom has provided broadband services to the SME and corporate sectors in Galway for the last year and a half via the State-owned Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs). The company has also unbundled three exchanges in the county, enabling it to provide broadband services to 35,000 households in Galway. The revamped Smart Telecom announced a €90 million restructuring earlier this year and is now focused on data, broadband and VoIP services to the Corporate, SME and Residential sectors. The total value of these markets has been estimated at €2.4 billion by telecoms regulator ComReg. |
