Since opening its doors in 2007, The Claregalway Acupuncture Clinic has grown in reputation as an ideal place to receive cosmetic acupuncture.

Owned and run by Theresa Rock, the clinic is ideally located in the centre of Claregalway village with free parking.

Having trained and worked in the health and beauty industry for several years, Theresa recognised a gap in the market for the many Irish women and men who wanted to address the ageing process but were reluctant to use Botox or go under the knife.

She trained at the College of Integrative Acupuncture, going on to complete four hospital placements in Beijing in China to further her studies.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is proving very popular and is receiving great acclaim in the cosmetic and beauty field with celebrities such as Madonna and Gwyneth Palthrow now turning to it to ward off wrinkles.

"I started to use it because I wanted to find a natural way to deal with the ageing process," says Theresa. And the steady flow of clients to her clinic would suggest she has succeeded. "The process allows the stimulation of blood, which enables the skin rejuvenation process to occur at a faster rate," remarks Theresa.

A report in The International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture, found that among 300 cases treated with cosmetic acupuncture, 90 per cent had remarkable results after just one course of treatments.

The benefits of cosmetic acupuncture speak for themselves, from:

Improving muscle tone to relax facial muscles.
Increasing natural collagen production to eliminate fine lines and soften deeper lines and wrinkles.
Improving hormonal balance to reduce acne, refine open pores and moisten dry skin;
Increasing oxygen, blood and lymph circulation to leave the skin glowing and radiant;
Brightening the eyes and reducing puffiness around the eye area;
Helping to lift sagging skin and drooping eyes.

"Aside from the physical improvement in the appearance of the skin, patients report an overall improvement in their health, with improved sleep, better digestion and increased energy levels," adds Theresa.

"Most of my patients actually fall asleep during the procedure, so when I say it's virtually pain free I really mean that! When I meet with them for the first time, I do a full personalised programme for them," Theresa says.

The Claregalway Acupuncture Clinic will soon be adding a new natural and organic skincare line that will act as a further complement to the cosmetic acupuncture regime. It is also a stockist of a wide and varied range of herbs that are available to buy.

The Claregalway Acupuncture Clinic is open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. Appointments are also available on late nights and on Saturdays on request. To make an appointment or for details of the promotional offer on Cosmetic Acupuncture, contact Theresa on 091-739352/086-3539399.
