Page 1 of 2 Nursery Village in Ballybane is your one-stop-shop for all your newborn baby's needs. The shop, which opened its doors just two weeks ago, is fully stocked with every style of buggy, high chair and cot. Nursery Village is located right next door to one of Galway's most renowned family-owned businesses - Harrys - which has been operating in Galway for the last 25 years. Nursery Village is owned by Marie Harris, who decided to set up this 'baby village' after giving birth to her son Cian, five months ago. ![]() "When I was pregnant with Cian, I was looking and shopping around for a buggy, a cot and bottles, well really everything you would need. I realised that there is nowhere in Galway that caters for the newborn baby. I decided shortly after his birth that I would open up a business that catered to everyone's needs from the baby to the parent," says Marie. Nursery Village is conveniently located in Whitegate in Ballybane. There is ample parking right outside the door and it is a seven-minute drive from the city centre. It is one of the largest baby stores in Galway and is a stockist of all the major baby brands from Silvercross, Britex, Medela, I Candy and Red Castle. "We carry almost every range in buggies, cots, high chairs and toddlers' toys. We have an extensive range of strollers from the regular to the travel system. This travel system stroller is becoming more and more popular. We also carry car seats that cater to your newborn of zero months to your growing child of 11 years old. And we have a specialised breast-feeding range. This is designed to cater to all women's and babies' breast-feeding needs," adds Marie. The extensive showroom, located on the upper floor of Nursery Village, is a warm and inviting space. It displays the latest in regular and travel cots, beginning in price from ?99, Moses baskets, play pens and Chicco baby carriers. The well laid out showroom makes for easy access to all of the products on sale. The upper floor also has three main showrooms. "These rooms are brilliant, as they show people the different styles and designs that are now available, in order to make your child's room the place that you want it to be," says Marie. Nursery Village has an extensive line of maternity wear from Thailand. 'Gatie' is an exclusive line of clothing to Galway. And the facility is specifically designed to make the shopping experience a comfortable one for parents. No price is set in stone. "Starting this week, we have a midwife on hand from Monday to Friday, to answer and give advice to all your breast-feeding queries. I am delighted that we can provide this service and feel that it is a necessary service to all new mums and their babies," remarks Marie. |
