If you're looking for flowers for your special day, look no further than Kinvara Flowers, based on the Moy Road in Kinvara. Now in business 14 months, Kinvara Flowers is making a name on the wedding scene as far away as London.

Owner, Dolores Madden, who originally worked in the software industry, decided that it was time for a change. "After working in software for a long time, I wanted to make some changes in my life. I have always loved working with plants and flowers and loved the idea of flowers as way of creatively expressing myself. I started by doing some work experience in Galway and followed on with some formal floristry training in Dublin. After training, I realised that this was really what I loved doing and, as I had a flair for it decided to take it further - and so Kinvara Flowers was born," says Dolores.

What sets Kinvara Flowers apart from the rest is the personalised nature of the wedding flowers service. "Wedding flowers are the main focus of my business. Flowers can play a vital role on the wedding day and are a great way for a couple to add a personal touch to their event. You will be looking at photos of your flowers for a long time to come in your wedding album, so it makes sense to get it right.

"I always sit down with the bride (and sometimes the groom!) for an initial consultation to get a good feel for what type and style of flowers they are looking for and will suit the day. When I first consult with a potential client, I ask them to close their eyes and see if they can visualize what they will look like on the day. From colour to flower type, to shape and style of bouquet that best suits your dress and stature, there are a lot of choices to consider. I try to help a bride sort through all the options available and come up with something that will work for their particular style and budget," says Dolores.

Kinvara Flowers imports flowers directly from Holland and has catered to requests varying from wild Irish flower bouquets to the more popular roses and the exquisite lily of the valley.

When it comes to weddings, Kinvara Flowers is a florist with a difference; it is essentially your very own personalised floral service. "I only take on one event a day, which allows me to fully concentrate on each event. I try to create as little stress for the bride and groom as possible, as they generally have enough to deal with. On the day itself I usually have a contact number of a friend or family member that I can use if any issues arise so as to not create any unnecessary stress for the couple," adds Dolores.

Kinvara Flowers has worked with brides from as far away as London and Belfast. "As I am online, at www.kinvaraflowers.ie, a lot of people find the business through the web. I still follow the same procedures no matter where the prospective bride might be.

"There is no obligation after the initial consultation. I cater to weddings and budgets of varying sizes and following a consultation will draw up a quote so that there are no hidden costs when people work with me".

Kinvara Flowers also caters to other areas of the flowers market. Dolores supplies weekly flowers to businesses and hotels in and around the Galway/Clare area. "Businesses and hotels like to add that touch of class and elegance at their reception areas and what simpler way of doing this than with flowers?" Dolores says.
