Ciarán Gantly has recently joined the well-established culinary team at the four-star Galway Bay Hotel.

Ciarán, a native of Galway city, has travelled the world for fifteen years gaining a wealth of experience in some of the top four and five star hotels in Central and Eastern Europe. After qualifying as a Master Chef in Germany, he worked as executive chef at the Russian five star Baltschug Kempinski Hotel until his return to Ireland in 1998.

During his time travelling, Ciarán personally cooked for some of the most famous people on the planet, both world leaders and artists alike. Some of these names include Irish President Mary McAleese, US Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and Robert de Niro, to name but a few.

An unconditional believer in the usage of fresh ingredients, and a proud member of the Feile Bia charter, Ciarán carefully selects local ingredients and sources the finest international produce to create fabulous cuisine for you to enjoy. "I have inherited a great foundation to build on. The restaurant, the team and the location here are first class" says Mr Gantly. He adds, "my ambition is to bring the food offering here at the Galway Bay Hotel to the next level. Whilst we receive superb customer feedback from our hotel residents, my goal is make the Galway Bay Lobster Pot restaurant and the casual dining Café Lido venues of choice when it comes to eating out in Galway."

Mr Gantly begins his journey with the launch of the Lobster Pot Restaurant's new Sunday Lunch offering, with the finest of food, a live pianist to create a relaxing Sunday afternoon and with face painting for kids, it makes Sunday lunch at the Galway Bay Hotel on the promenade a great day out for the family.
