Appointment: Business Development Manager, Fáilte Ireland West

Fáilte Ireland West recently announced the appointment of Eva Dearie as the new Business Development Manager for the West region. Eva took up her position as Business Development Manager in February 2008 and brings with her a wealth of experience. She takes up this new position which was created within Fáilte Ireland West following the merger of Fáilte Ireland with the Regional Tourism Authorities in 2006.

Eva comes to the region having held the positions of Regional Finance Manager and most recently, Business Analyst in IT with Intel Corp UK and Intel Ireland, working on global programs and projects including e-learning and customer engagement roles. Prior to that, she also worked with Trust House Forte Hotels in the UK and even ran her own pub in rural England.

A GMIT graduate, with a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management, Eva is also qualified in the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). She has described the move to Failte Ireland West as her dream job. Commenting on her new position Eva stated, "I am hugely excited about taking up this new position. It is my goal to encourage the further development of tourism businesses in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon and work together with them to bring their businesses into the 21st century, in terms of training, skills, enterprise and people development"

Eva is a native of Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon, and currently lives in Carracastle, near Charlestown in Co. Mayo. She is married to Mark, with one daughter Eilish aged 13.
