The annual conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, recently held in Galway, has heard of the challenges facing the accounting industry and its stakeholders. Presenting to the annual conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI), Jim Keane, founding partner of Russell Brennan Keane (RBK), shared some of the key elements he believes have contributed to RBK's success over the last 50 years. Mr Keane also identified what are in his view the many challenges facing the industry and outlined how RBK plan to meet those challenges. Mr Keane and Conor Woods, the oldest and youngest partners at Russell Brennan Keane outlined key milestones that have taken the expanding firm to its 50 year anniversary. In his presentation, Mr Keane discussed his personal reflections on the key drivers of 50 years of organic growth within RBK. Also speaking at the conference was Conor Woods, audit engagement partner at Russell Brennan Keane's Dublin office. Being the youngest partner in the growing firm, Conor pointed to a trend emerging in younger staff who are interested in pursuing a career in accountancy "they are expressing a strong interest in developing entrepreneurial skills and see that the chartered accountancy route is a good foundation to develop these skills" he said. |
