A seminar on how to promote your business will be held in Galway on Tuesday, 10 June. The seminar, run by the Irish Academy of Public Relations, will be hosted by Dublin-based expert Ellen Gunning, who is the Academy's director. She will give a presentation entitled 'Ten red hot tips on how to promote your business'.

With over 20 years experience in business, Ms Gunning will give an insider's view on how to generate publicity and get a business noticed. The meeting will be held in the Meyrick Hotel, at 7pm and is open to members and non-members of the Academy. This event is free of charge.

The Irish Academy Network was launched in January and is active in eleven regions throughout the country. The network is for communications professionals (public relations, advertising and marketing people) and their service providers (graphic designers, printers, hotels, photographers etc).

Speaking about the meeting Ellen Gunning said, "From the time we launched the Academy Communications Network we've had a fantastic response from PR professionals, marketing managers, photographers, and graphic designers. Galway is definitely alive to the whole idea of creating new business opportunities, training, upskilling, and networking. I'm looking forward to a lively session next week in the Meyrick."

Membership of the Academy Network opens up local, national and international networking channels. Members of the Network form links with other communications professionals within their area, attend regional meetings, social evening events and update their skills through the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme. Members will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents and business at the Academy Network's annual conference in October.
