Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Eamon O Cuív has announced that his Department has agreed a five-month extension (up to 31 December 2008) to the Aer Árann contract for the provision of air services to the Árann islands. The subsidy for the contract is €487,500.

"This is a vital service for the Árann community and I am satisfied that Aer Árann will continue to provide an excellent service over the coming five months", said the Minister.
