Galway U-21 manager Alan Flynn is hoping that centre-back colossus Daithi Burke will be ready to take on Cork in Saturday’s All-Ireland football final.
The Tribes’ boss has rated Burke as ’50-50′ at best to recover from the hamstring injury that has dogged his championship campaign, but he thinks that whoever lines out in the number six shirt will be ready to face a Rebels onslaught.
“We just haven’t a clue if Daithi will be ready to play at the weekend. He made it back for the semi-final win over Kildare after missing the Connacht final, but he has had a tight hamstring since.
“At this stake he is no more than 50-50 to play, but we’ll just have to see if he can make it through training at all this week. He’ll get every chance to recover, but he is not right we won’t chance him, not with a hamstring injury,” said Flynn.
